A brand new period has began as Pakistan on Friday operationalized the Gwadar Port, marking a primary within the sea commerce between Pakistan and Afghanistan beneath the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Commerce Settlement-2010 (APTTA).
In a sequence of tweets, Advisor to Prime Minister on Commerce and Funding Abdul Razak Dawood stated ship carrying 16,000 metric tonnes of urea and fertilizer for Afghanistan had arrived in Gwadar, starting a brand new chapter of commerce through sea route from the Gwadar Port to Afghanistan.

For the primary time, bagging shall be achieved regionally as an alternative of overseas ports. Urea shall be bagged & shipped on vans to Afghanistan at Gwadar, which is able to generate employment for the locals. Directions have already been handed to allocate all labor jobs to the native inhabitants.
Aside from fertilizers, Afghanistan shall be granted permission for the transit commerce of sugar and wheat from Gwadar, whereas vans carrying absolutely sealed consignments will solely be allowed to go to the neighboring nation.
